What to keep out of an AI chat
Do not paste identity numbers, OTPs, or full scans of other people’s documents into a chatbot. Ask the process question without handing over the file.
AI tools are conversational, which makes them feel private. The safe assumption is that anything you paste may be stored somewhere you do not control. Write accordingly.
Leave these out
- Aadhaar, PAN, passport, and bank numbers.
- OTPs and passwords.
- Photographs of other people’s identity cards.
- Medical or school records that name a person.
Ask the question anyway
You can ask “which documents does a typical college form mention?” without attaching your marksheet. You can ask how to read a scheme page. Then you check the answer against the official page, using the same checklist as any other AI answer.
